Words and Thoughts Truly Come From the Heart
"The Heart Is the Control Switchboard Connecting the Five Sense Telephones With the Brain" - SRF
Have you ever considered the origin of the thoughts and emotions that constantly arise within you?
Well, guess what? Those feelings and thoughts originate from your heart. Yes, it's true. Your physical heart is a medium of thoughts and feelings.
I'm sure you've probably heard the words "be careful what comes from the heart" or "they died of a broken heart." Our heart is not only created for our physical existence. The heart is a conduit of the soul.
While meditating I objectively listened to my thoughts and analyzed my feelings, whether they were positive, negative, or absolutely bazaar.
I deeply contemplated their origins and after extensive analysis and meditation, the answer to the puzzle of "where do our thoughts and emotions originate from" dawned on me intuitively.
Funnily enough a while after the answer intuitively presented itself to me, I happened to come across the article "The Brain Myth: Your Intellect and Thoughts Originate in Your Heart, Not Your Brain." It confirmed my intuitive realization. The editorial explained in precise words what I innately understood.
Here is a preview of the article's content:
"Like a computer that contains a microprocessor that allows the computer to accomplish all of its various tasks, the idea that a human being also works like a computer with a brain that functions like a microprocessor, is something that almost all people raised in Western Culture assume is a fact.
But it is not a fact. It is a belief system.
And as a belief system, would it surprise you to learn that this is a fairly modern belief, and that historically it has not been the brain that has been considered the driving force in humans that allows them to think and reason, but that historically it has been the heart that is attributed to human consciousness, including our mind, speech, and thoughts?"
What we are taught in western societies ignores truths discovered by the sages 1000s of years ago. We're taught that everything is physical and that there are no metaphysical explanations.
The term meta is a Greek prefix and means beyond i.e. metaphysics = beyond physics. The term metaphysics clarifies the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and the physical heart.
Here's more from the article touching on the subject:
"What modern Western Culture does with its “scientific belief” that all “truth” is contained within the physical realm where it can be observed and cataloged, is completely ignore the spirit and soul of mankind, our non-physical and meta-physical components.
It is, therefore, this a priori belief that attributes consciousness, rational thought, reasoning, and the “mind” to that organ in our head, the brain, and not science itself.
But this belief in the function of human brains today is not the belief that most cultures held to for many thousands of years, including Greek and Roman culture, which were the pre-cursors to modern-day Western Culture."
The article also states that:
"What Western Culture’s academic thought has done for the past couple hundred years is reduce the importance of the heart, and attribute some of its function to the brain instead.
Today, academic teaching focuses on the “physical sciences,” as the traditional academic studies in the humanities and the arts has been degraded in value as compared to “science.”
The meaning of the word “science” in the English language has been redefined through the ages where today it has a very narrow meaning of primarily “medical science..
This narrow understanding of “science” or “knowledge,” which only looks at what can be observed in the physical world, is now equated with “truth,” and is considered by modern society to be more valuable than any other kind of knowledge.
However, science cannot prove anything! It can only collect data and form hypotheses from that data to produce “theories” as to what is true and what is not, and then these theories are continually tested as new data is discovered, and updated accordingly."
Scientific Proof Does NOT
Transcend Spiritual Truth
I recall reading a story some time ago about individuals who received heart transplants and as a result, acquired certain characteristics of the heart donor.
There is an intriguing study on this phenomenon titled Memory Transference In Organ Transplant Recipients. The article serves as evidence that things are not always as they appear in the physical world and that relying solely on physical scientific analysis is exceedingly limiting.
Upon further reading the above commentary affirms that:
"There is nothing in modern day science that disproves the ancient view that the heart is the center of our reasoning and mind, and not the brain.
In fact, if anything, there is scientific evidence that confirms the central place of our heart in our life.
This evidence comes from stories of people who receive heart transplants, and then find themselves thinking about and remembering things that the person who donated their heart experienced before they died, even though the recipient of the new heart never knew the donor."
I don't want to give away the entirety of the article but it's definitely worth reading.
If you choose to read the full article, I encourage you to carefully ponder its content. Take time to reflect on your understanding of how your thoughts and feelings manifest. Consider the impact they have on your life
Remember...we're not simply physical beings created to be poked, pilled, and continually diagnosed with a malady for every change in mood or physical condition. We're much more than that.
Pray and meditate earnestly, and God will reveal His secrets to you. As you gain a deeper understanding of the truth about your existence, your life will become healthier, happier, and more peaceful.
