The Mind-Body Connection
To take care of your body is not meant in only the physical sense. Your mental relationship with your body is extremely important. You see the body and the mind takes care of each other, however, the mind has the power to heal the body and renew your soul.
Have you ever been around a person with a malady and thought "why did this happen to them...they were always eating the right foods and exercising and looked the picture of health?"
The reason why is because even though they have the physical discipline they haven't exercised mental spiritual discipline. The mind is more powerful than the body but many are unaware of this truth.
For example, you can be as physically fit as you like but if you are hateful, envious, have a number of inferiority complexes or just an overall negative person mentally, that disposition will eventually catch up with you and manifest as some type of weakness in your body.
Have you ever noticed an older person who seemed young? Not just physically young, but there's a youthful aura about them and you feel their positive energy? That's because mentally they are positive, youthful, and energetic. They haven't allowed their body to determine their mood.
A person's beautiful personality can actually alter the way you perceive them. This demonstrates the immense power that the mind has over our physical appearance.
However, the connection between the mind and body is a double-edged sword. Neglecting one while focusing on the other can hinder overall mental and physical well-being
The Body and Mind Connection is a Complex and Delicate Matter.
Even though troubles with the body can occur despite our best efforts to take care of it, maintaining mental balance can reduce anxiety about any signs of affliction. This, in turn, allows the body to heal more quickly.
You see, the body is not just a physical manifestation but it's a manifestation of our consciousness as well. For every body part there is a mental counterpart.
If you can find the mental component that's causing your body's illness it will help greatly with healing. This is one reason why a good understanding of metaphysics is important.
The author Louise Hay has written a number of books on the mind-body connection. She states that "illness however mild or severe is an indicator of your emotional state, caused by your thoughts and focus" Read more HERE.
For example, if you suffer from motion sickness it may indicate that mentally you have a fear of being trapped or in bondage. Or if you have liver issues it may indicate you're holding lots of anger and have a hard time controlling your emotions.
According to hopkinsmedicine:
How does the brain work?
The brain sends and receives chemical and electrical signals throughout the body. Different signals control different processes, and your brain interprets each signal for good or ill in relation to your body. Some make you feel tired, for example, while others make you feel pain, some make you feel full of energy or relaxed.
Some messages are kept within the brain, while others are relayed through the spine and across the body’s vast network of nerves to distant extremities. To do this, the central nervous system relies on billions of neurons (nerve cells)."
Expressed in metaphysical terms your brain/mind is where you live and what goes on up there 100% effects what's happening down there i.e. your body.
In fact, you can do a quick test right now. Imagine biting into a juicy lemon and observe your body's reaction. Alternatively, envision something wonderful that you desire and pay attention to how the energy in your body reacts.
The Pineal Gland
An extremely important part of the brain is the pineal gland. This wonderous gland is said to be "the place where God connection takes place within the body."
The site siddhaspirituality.com provides an accurate description of the pineal gland:
"The pineal gland, a pine-cone-shaped gland of the endocrine system, is a highly essential part of the brain necessary for our survival. It is often associated with the third eye or the Agya chakra, when activated, which leads one to higher realms of consciousness.
Some may think of the spiritual world as being completely beyond and outside of our bodies. In fact, the opposite might be the case. Scientists cannot confirm or deny the role of the pineal gland (third eye) in spiritual experience, but the pineal gland plays the dominant role in spirituality in many cultures around the world, and this for many thousand years.
Just as we have organs like our ears to help us hear sound waves, we have the pineal gland to help us attune to the spiritual world.

The article discusses several aspects of the pineal gland, including its function, physical importance, the benefits of awakening it and more.
