Did you know that your struggle with money is strictly an internal and not an external occurrence? Are you aware that in order to attract a more balanced flow of money that you must change your belief about money?

The Stepping Stones of Love...Part I

Image
The content of this article is taken from one of my favorite Self-Realization Fellowship magazine issues from 2016. It was written by Bruce Brander. The narrative is so thought-provoking that I could not resist publishing it on my blog.  I have only taken bits and pieces from this inspirational piece; however, the full article is worth reading. It is filled with wisdom and insightful guidance about the confusion surrounding what the world calls love. I hope you enjoy it! And be sure to read my thoughts on this topic in the blog post *The Stepping Stones of Love, Part Il  Romance and Selfishness The author calls romantic love eros . This type of love is often steeped in selfishness, lust, possession, and impulses. He writes that "many social scientists look harshly on the kind of love that rises so hopefully then ebbs as reliably as the tide, leaving many partners stranded on an emotional desert island."  Sociologist Pitirim Sorokin, who founded the Harvard Research Center...

The Stepping Stones of Love...Part II

Image
You’ve probably read my previous post, The Stepping Stones of Love Part I .  In Part II, I share my personal interpretation of love and its deep significance for growth along the spiritual path. On the spiritual path, I have found that love is the greatest challenge. Not because loving is hard, but because learning how to love is harder. Love is not just an emotion. It is manifested as an extension of consciousness and a genuine expression of goodwill toward others. It is an appreciation for life and the wish for the same good for others that you would want for yourself and your loved ones. It's not always easy. With so much upheaval in the world, causes one to question the value of wishing goodwill to others. Especially those who harm others and ruin lives. How can you love such people? If you grasp that love is more than just an emotional feeling, then you can see how loving humanity as a whole is possible. Emotional love causes attachment, demands reciprocation, and creates lim...

Watching the Perils of Life Through the Lens of Documentaries

Image
It is not necessary to go through bad experiences in order to evolve on this earthly journey, but for most people, painful experiences are the only path to redemption. For example, I have watched many documentaries about the lives of everyday people and how they deal with life's complexities.  I observed that most of these people only make the effort to enlighten themselves after a traumatic experience. Too many unnecessarily punish themselves due to ignorance, when wisdom could have saved them from disappointment and suffering.   When watching real-life documentaries, the wise thing to do is to put yourself in other people’s shoes and learn from their mistakes. Yet so few people have the will to do so.  It seems that the impact of someone else’s bad experience lasts only for that moment. Out of habit, many people simply go on with their lives, none the wiser. Very few people improve themselves because of another person’s suffering. Yet life is full of disappointment...

The Illusory World and its Delusions

Image
The world is not what it seems. Yes, it exists, but your eyes and mind are playing tricks on you.  For example, take a look at the illusions below from ( brightside.me ) The image of the bicycle wheels appears to be turning, but this is an illusion. The second image is also an illusion. Can you make out what is actually in the image?   I will now try to explain why and how this world is an illusion, and hopefully help you understand it better. Between paragraphs, I will include images to demonstrate how easily appearances can be deceiving. For example, consider the image below what do you see? Albert Einstein once said, "Reality is merely an illusion, although a very persistent one." His words align concisely with the main points of this article.  E ven though it’s challenging to break free from the illusion of this world, escape you must, if you want to achieve true happiness.    The Difference Between Delusion and Illusion There is a reason I use both the...

Which Is Better Age-Old Healing Methods Or Contemporary Medicine?

Image
Considering what's been happening with global health the past few years, many people are baffled about what is actually going on.  All of a sudden, we as spiritual beings  are deemed rabid animals too infectious to love, enjoy, and congregate with one another.  In this blog post, the focus is on the comparison between allopathic medicines and traditional or natural medicines, and how these two approaches to treating dis-ease impact us on a metaphysical level. However, there's something that you should be aware of.  Cures for dis-eases are never derived from allopathic medical applications. In order to cure a dis-ease the root cause of the malady must be addressed.  Allopathic medicines only scratch the surface and might relieve the symptoms, but the same illness could return or come back again in another form because true healing has not taken place.  Modern Medicine and Our Immunity System  In truth w e are more than just a body. We are a mind or...

What Does Following The Law Mean To You?

Image
Man's laws and universal (God's) laws are not comparable when it comes to truth and justice. So, what is universal law?  Universal law is inherent in God's creation and designed to maintain a balance of both the spiritual and physical world.  Every soul has the right to utilize universal law to maintain protection and order while wandering through this world of uncertainty.  Example: If there were no laws to govern the galaxy, the sun would collide with the moon. Similarly, without laws, elephants would give birth to zebras and humans would be born as adults instead of babies.  Universal laws are immutable and apply to everything in our sphere of existence and beyond. However, for the purpose of this discussion, I will focus on the domain of Earth. Universal laws also govern our character. For instance, forgiveness is a law unto itself because when we forgive we relieve ourselves of anger and hurt. It doesn't necessarily let the other person off the hook but i...
