God Is Better
Do the words "God Is Better" mean anything to you? Have those words ever crossed your mind? Or, maybe you've heard the phrase God Is Better before but never really thought much about it...until now.
Perhaps the current global upheaval has caused you to pause and contemplate whether there is something better. Well, there is something better...God Is Better and there's no getting around it.
With all the confusion and destruction driving people mad, I realized a blog post like this is desperately needed...like pronto! And even though the phenomena taking place is quite different than what it appears to be, there are so many who don't realize this.
To many, this world is all there is. As a result, individuals often struggle to cope with the perplexities of everyday life. However, there is one way to escape from it all and that's by turning to God.
It doesn't matter which name you choose for God. The Creator, The One, Yahweh, It, The Most High, etc. Regardless of your affiliation, the longing is the same for every soul.
This isn't about emotional, end of the world, fatalistic moralizing. But the fact is that too many souls, on their present terrestrial journey, have forgotten their true nature. They have made the external world i.e. governments, world leaders, banking institutions, doctors, other people etc., their God and look at the suffering because of it.
Each and every one of us are born with freewill. We all have a choice. It may not always seem that way...but as we stand before our conscious a decision must always be made.
The choice is whether to serve man or serve God. Serving God is a million times more beneficial than serving man and believe it or not...more practical too.
Serving God does not mean neglecting your earthly duties. However, as you progress spiritually, you may come to realize that blindly following societal norms is not always the morally correct choice, especially when those choices conflict with your conscience.
Why Is God Better? Let Me Count The Ways
God Is Better because you make better choices in your life...period. You become wiser, calmer, healthier, more prosperous, secure, and happy. No more worrying and crying about what you don't have or about the future.
If you build a solid relationship with God, no amount of worldly despair will cause you to feel disheartened. A formidable buffer is formed around your consciousness that no amount of hopelessness can penetrate.
The way to reap this wonderful fortress of protection is not to forget God in your daily life. For example, even something as mundane as saving money on a loaf of bread. God will lead you to the right store that offers the best savings...without you even asking. He knows before you even speak.
Many souls believe that God has no time for such mundane matters. But to God, nothing is too small or too great. Once you make an impermeable contact with the Creator, He watches over you in every way. God never sleeps.
In fact, you will get to the point where your relationship with the seemingly invisible God is just as tangible as someone standing right in front of you. There will be no need to pray for anything either. You will know, beyond a doubt, that you are taken care of.
Yet, there's certainly no harm in praying for others and there's certainly nothing unsound about sincerely praying as respects to the joy, prosperity, and wisdom that God has bestowed upon you. Praising God is a means of blessedness in and of itself.
You just know that everything is alright even if appearances seem otherwise. God knows your needs before you do! He answers before you even call.
It's much like being a child. The child is not worried because they know that they are loved and that all their needs will be met. That's the type of love and security you will experience if you get yourself right with God.
Getting right with God means remembering who you truly are, a child of God, and that God is always there waiting with the door open for you to step in whenever you are ready to come home.
This is what is meant by prayer changes you not God. You must be a competent, intelligent, mindful, and enduring vessel in order to receive the full blessings of God.
Therefore, at the start of your spiritual journey, prayer will likely play a significant role. However, as you progress, words may no longer be necessary as you embody the essence of prayer itself.
Beginning Your Spiritual Journey Towards God
Consider this scenario: you just purchased an exclusive wristwatch. In essence, you know that this timepiece did not simply appear out of thin air. Rather, it was carefully designed and produced by someone.
You inquire about who is behind it's creation because the creator of the piece is much more interesting than the piece itself. You are curious about the design of the wristwatch, it's mechanisms, color, materials etc.
This is the type of curiosity you should have about the world. You become so enthused that you are determined to make an unswerving effort to know the One who created it. Then you will begin to perceive how the world truly functions and its purpose.
And believe me...God is never boring. He is infinite and has an infinite amount of ways to entertain you. You will have a multitude of questions and He will answer them in a multitude of ways.
Moreover, you will also have enriching experiences while fulfilling your daily earthly responsibilities. This is what is meant by you will be in the world but not of it.
Your consciousness will be free from worry and despair. You will then be free to concentrate on God's beautiful creation and ask questions directly to Him. And yes...He will answer! God is all-knowing.
The wristwatch is designed to work in a certain way. Trying to force it to work any other way will cause it to malfunction. That's how we are when we ignore God. We become malfunctioning, dysfunctional beings who will never find relief until we turn to Him.
God is merciful...man is not. God offers unconditional love...man does not. God knows and understands who you REALLY are...man does not. God is holy and forgiving...man is not. God has the answer to all your needs...man does not.
There's no comparison to the love and trust that God provides. Once your consciousness expands into higher realms, you will begin to realize this. You will find Him much more intriguing and exciting than the world He created.
As certain training is needed for engaging in the art of war, so does our engagement in battling with active life. Untrained warriors are soon killed on the battlefield; so also men untrained in the art of preserving their inner peace are quickly riddled by the bullets of worry and restlessness in active life. - Self-Realization Fellowship
God Is Better
God Is Better than anything man can offer you because only He can fulfill and satisfy the needs of the Soul.
When you pledge your allegiance to the world instead of God...you will never know true happiness because the world is incapable of providing it! The world promises happiness but gives sorrow.
Only God can grant complete happiness because we are a part of Him and He is a part of us. By uniting with God, you will become complete!
The world is a divine enigma - evil mixed with good, sorrow with joy, death with life....We should not rack our brains nor become disbelievers in a divine scheme in creation if we cannot understand all the paradoxical dramas of good and evil, of happiness and sorrow, of rich and poor, of health and sickness, of intelligence and stupidity, of peace and wars, of kindness and cruelty in nature.
A successful play has suspense, captivates the interest, bewilders or puzzles, and ends with a satisfying dramatic flourish...Similarly, God will in time suddenly lift the veil for every ascending Soul, disclosing the final part of the Cosmic Drama, long concealed, behind the many acts of tragedies and comedies, to reveal its mighty, noble end. - Self-Realization Fellowship
We are individual souls experiencing life on earth. When we
believe that we are separate from God the world becomes
nothing but trouble and confusion. By purposely uniting
with God we are freed from the miseries of this world.
What better life can there be than that?
