Don't Worry...The World Has Always Been A Mess Part I

"Out yonder there was this huge world, which exists independently of us human beings and which stands before us like a great, eternal riddle, at least partially accessible to our inspection and thinking. The contemplation of this world beckoned like a liberation…" -Albert Einstein
The world appears chaotic and that's because in a way it is. But it's nothing new. The world has always been a mess and it will continue to be a mess long after we're gone. Don't get me wrong, the world is beautiful, amazing, and miraculous. However, these realities only blossom when we can perceive this wonderful planet of ours through the eyes of spiritual maturity and understanding. If not, the world will scare and depress you and will make no sense at all.

From its conception, the  "material" world has been filled with turmoil. Yet, when you view the world through "seeing eyes" the misery, death, and destruction take on a different meaning. Of course, it does exist, but it's purpose is a means of learning and spiritual growth.

Without the contrast of good-and-evil earthly souls would not seek good nor would they seek to be free from evil. Keep in mind, that the earth is not our permanent home; therefore, it's purpose is not for us to make it our eternal home but to desire and find God. Why? Because in God is  where pure, eternal happiness lies....and deep down inside that is what we all seek. Happiness, joy, prosperity, and security. Our mistake is thinking that we will receive these virtues from the world.

You see the world never provides the "perfect bliss" that we seek, and it's not supposed to. That happiness can only be found and lived from "within." We must free the soul from earth's delusion while tandemly freeing ourselves from its despondency. We must learn to live with wisdom.

Earth is a school, and everyone's trying to work out the karma they've accumulated from eons ago, whether consciously or subconsciously. We're in different grades, at different stages; hence all the chaos.

A baby, for the most part, is unaware of their surroundings. They feel, touch, and see, but their cerebrum hasn't developed enough to make heads-or-tails of what's going on. Toddlers are curious and the world is one big playground. In the eyes of a child, the world is one of beauty, joy, and mystery. Children exemplify the purest form of trust and faith. Their minds haven't been polluted with negativity and doubt...yet.

Children get over things quickly and subconsciously comprehend that tomorrow is another day and that things will be better. They're not worried about this world because they're so enthralled with the happiness, goodness, and the joy of spirit that can only be experienced in the NOW. They just want to be loved and give love.

Subsequently as we grow older, the reasoning mind (the secular mind) begins to take over. We become fearful, doubtful, and less optimistic. This dual relationship with the world (faith vs doubt...good vs evil) will usually begins after puberty. The physical and mental changes at puberty opens various doors that were closed before thus leading to the ascendancy of the reasoning mind. The soul becomes full of questions and experimentation which may lead to fortunate or unfortunate consequences.

Sure, many practice the power of "positive thinking" but it has to be backed up by faith that's reinforced by spiritual truth. For examle, the book The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, is a classic and full of faith driven antidotes that never die because they're based on "truth" and backed by "faith."

By your mid-30s and beyond, you've experienced enough disappoints to at least have a clue that the world is a pretty messed up place. If you don't have spiritual understanding and a strong connection with The Creator, depression, pessimism, hopelessness, illnesses and a host of dangerous mental disorders and emotional instabilities will follow you to the grave.

We then begin to wonder "what's it all about." Which is not a bad thing in itself. But turning to drink and drugs and constantly looking to others to "figure your life out for you" is not the answer either. Some find answers, if searched for in the right way, but most people don't have the discipline and patience to do so. So they continue to suffer without knowing why or how to release themselves from the misery.

Hundreds of years from now there will be new problems or old problems presented in a new way. Same movie different actors. Don't worry, just try to grow beyond the physical world. Try to learn from your mistakes at each stage of life. You will then learn to live with wisdom and you will not only be a help to yourself but your family, friends, and the world.
