metaphysics and spiritual concepts enhance your life. Believe me, you won't want to put this book down.

Your Word is Your Wand: A Sequel to the Game of Life and How to Play It By Florence Scovel Shinn

Word Your Wand.jpg

If you read my review for Ms.Shinn's other book "The Game of Life and How to Play It" her sequel "Your Word Is Your Wand" is just as riveting. This sequel hones in on the power of our words and how we can use them for goodwill or impediments in our life. Definitely worth taking note!

Autobiograhy Yogi.jpg

I initially purchased Autobiography of a Yogi in paperback. After reading, underlining, and highlighting points in the book that inspired me, I purchased the hardcover edition. In my view, Autobiography of a Yogi is a treasure. It's not for everyone as it is advanced spiritually; however, it is written for the common individual in simple language. In fact, anyone picking up this book to read simply out of curiosity will be inspired. The content is witty and intelligently written. If you are searching for answers to the mysteries of our existence, you will find that this book will satisfy your curiosity.

Which Is Better Age-Old Healing Methods Or Contemporary Medicine?

November 16, 2021

Considering what is happening in the world today as it relates to health, you're probably baffled by what is actually taking place. All of a sudden, we as "spiritual beings" are deemed rabid animals who can no longer love, enjoy, and congregate with one another . We're simply products of chance and the only way out of the dilemma is to "follow the ways of man" for healing and freedom.

Yes, in some ways, allopathic medicines have helped. I'm not denying that. Nevertheless, "cures" are never derived from this type of medicine as in order to "cure" a dis-ease the root cause of the malady must be addressed. Allopathic medicines only scratch the surface and may "relieve" a person of symptoms, but the illness may return or come back in another form.

We are more than a body and metaphysically speaking, the body and mind must be healed as a whole for good health. This is overlooked by individuals practicing allopathist procedures.

In addition, many modern medicines are highly toxic and moderate to severely debilitating side-effects are very common. For example, statins were touted as the remedy for high cholesterol. Unfortunately, statins have been found to carry a variety of side-effects such as liver damage, memory loss, muscle related issues and more. You can read more about the side-effects of statins HERE.

There are a variety of God given "natural" remedies for high-cholesterol like red yeast rice, psyllium, fenugreek, and fish oil for high cholesterol. Of course, before the introduction of allopathic use, these types of natural treatments were frequently used to great effect.

Cholesterol is just one example of conditions i.e. illnesses that have been hijacked by modern medicine. Yet, on a daily basis, we are made to fear our bodies and even life itself. And because Individuals have no control over the mind and emotions, they lose all faith in their God given health and immunity and rely on worldly tactics to fight what ails them. Which in many cases, ends up making things worse.

Healing, Ancient Traditions, and Modern Medicine

I came upon the article Ancient Healing vs Modern Medicine and found it interesting, inspiring, and truthful. I placed several excerpts from the article in this post; however, I recommend taking the time to read the original content via the red linked title:

"The belief that modern medicine has achieved great success in overcoming historical diseases that prior to the advent of modern medicine plagued and killed humanity is drilled into anyone who grew up in a western country with a western education.

Older traditional systems of dealing with health and sickness are thought to be antiquated and inferior, which includes bodies of health information that have been around for many thousands of years in non-western countries, such as “Traditional Chinese Medicine” (TCM) or “Ayurveda” practices in South Asia, mainly in India."

I wholeheartedly agree with this. We've been trained to forego any "alternative remedies" as they are deemed ineffectual and primarily used by quacks! Nonetheless, our bodies are designed by our Creator to balance beautifully with what nature provides.

"Western medicine based on pharmaceutical products, of course, has only been around for a couple of hundred years, taking roots in America in the later half of the 1800s and early 1900s.

How in the world did the human race survive so long without pharmaceutical products? If we were to take the western-based statements that they claim for themselves regarding “science” and “medicine” at face value, we have to conclude that human beings should have become extinct on this planet thousands of years ago!"

Yes, unfortunately in today's world, most doctors are not taught about the methods of ancient healing as they are deemed fruitless and not as beneficial.

To this day the war on coconut oil continues, being demonized as a “saturated fat” that the American public has been brainwashed into believing is the cause of high cholesterol and heart disease, propping up the multi-billion dollar cholesterol-lowering statin drug industry, as well as the geriatric drug industry that treats diseases that are primarily caused by having your cholesterol too low (25% of your body’s cholesterol is in your brain), such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and many other forms of dementia that the pharmaceutical industry profits from.

I touched on the circumstances surrounding cholesterol earlier in this blog post and the excerpt from the article proves my point!

Another section of this amazing article is titled: Traditional Healing Systems Have been Primarily Energy-based Dealing with Spiritual Issues in Addition to Physical Issues

"The oldest healing systems in the world today historically have been systems based on “energy” or “spiritual” forces. This would include TCM and Ayurveda, systems used for thousands of years in the two most populous areas of earth, China and India.

The physical components of our bodies are a very small percentage of who we are. We are primarily beings of energy and spirit, and pretty much all older healing systems acknowledged this fact.

Looking only at the physical components of our body for healing is a recent phenomenon, starting with the switch to Darwinian evolutionary biology in the 1800s.

A more recent healing system based primarily on energy is the field of Homeopathy, which was developed by a German physician named Samuel Hanhemann (1744-1843). His teaching came to the United States in the early 1800s, and for some years was the primary “medical system” used in the United States."

I won't go too deeply into the meaning of this text as I have somewhat gone over the spiritual aspects of this topic already. However, just suffice it to say that God has given us a miraculous immune system. Nothing is too great for this system to heal when consciously connected to the "true nature of the Higher Power" within us.

After reading my post and the full original article leave a comment. Many Blessings and Good Health...!!!
