Your Word is Your Wand: A Sequel to the Game of Life and How to Play It By Florence Scovel Shinn

If you read my review for Ms.Shinn's other book "The Game of Life and How to Play It" her sequel "Your Word Is Your Wand" is just as riveting. This sequel hones in on the power of our words and how we can use them for goodwill or impediments in our life. Definitely worth taking note!

Autobiograhy Yogi.jpg

I initially purchased Autobiography of a Yogi in paperback. After reading, underlining, and highlighting points in the book that inspired me, I purchased the hardcover edition. In my view, Autobiography of a Yogi is a treasure. It's not for everyone as it is advanced spiritually; however, it is written for the common individual in simple language. In fact, anyone picking up this book to read simply out of curiosity will be inspired. The content is witty and intelligently written. If you are searching for answers to the mysteries of our existence, you will find that this book will satisfy your curiosity.

God Made Us All Unique

May 9, 2022

We're all intrinsically unique. It's not so much due to what we've cultivated in this life. It's because God made us that way.

You see, God never repeats Himself. There will never be another one like YOU! Just think of all the people you've encountered in your current existence. This includes relatives, work colleagues, spouses, children, even strangers. There will NEVER be another one like that person.

Consider celebrities. The world praises their talents, but once they leave this world...that's it. They're not coming back...at least not in their previous form. That great author, singer, piano player, sports figure in the Sports Hall of Fame will all be gone one day. There will those who will imitate them but it won't bring that person back. The uniqueness in all of us cannot be duplicated.

A Soul comes into this life to learn and grow into their spiritual nature and solidify their connection to The Creator. An ingrained trait of uniqueness is given to each and every one of us. It's much like a family with five children. All the children are unique even though they come from the same family. They may have some similarities but there is something about them that makes them, well, unique.

If you see someone who resembles another person, there's still something about that person that lets you know "they're not that other person." That inimitability is innate in each and every one of us. This is why you should never want to be anyone else. Develop your own uniqueness. It's in there somewhere!

Don't follow the crowd, stand out from the crowd. This doesn't mean having an egocentric persona where no one can stand being around you. This means going "within" and cultivating your talent, whether it's a talent for cooking, learning languages, being a superb parent, whatever it may be. If you do so you will find that God will make that talent shine...why? Because it's uniquely YOU.
